End-use aspects of hydrogen application for transportation
Purpose, Objectives and Key Question
The first purpose of this task is to highlight the past efforts with H2ICE during the 1900:s and also during the 25 years we are now into the 2000:s to understand what has already been tried. Another purpose is to make an inventory of the current activities with H2ICE to better understand the major thrusts forward. A third purpose is to clarify the general behavior of hydrogen combustion in engines. A fourth purpose is to investigate more advanced combustion concepts, not already demonstrated and evaluate their potential. A final purpose is to investigate the potential of hydrogen as a fuel for transportation.
Activities
Experts around the world will be invited to a row of seminars to enlighten crucial topics like:
- Aspects of hydrogen application potential
- Economy, Hydrogen production, Energy supply, Policy
- Review of old hydrogen concepts and results
- The combustion behavior of hydrogen
- Spark ignition H2ICE
- Dual fuel operation
- Compression ignition H2ICE
- Unconventional combustion concepts
In the task, a task manager organizes the workshops / virtual meetings and is responsible for compiling the key messages, the report, and for preparing the seminars.
Expected results
At the end of the task, the following deliverables will be available:
- PP presentations from the seminars.
- A final report.
- Key messages
- A final dissemination online seminar
